Brand Design & Poster Design for Pianist Masako Ohta

We were particularly pleased about the commission to design the poster for the promotion of the concert series Roots & Wings in 2015. Because Marlene Kern Design Online advertising agency was not only supposed to design the poster for this project, but also the program flyer and the invitation design.

Roots & Wings Visualization and Poster Design

Tokyo-born Masako Ohta conceived a concert series entitled Roots & Wingsto celebrate her 30th anniversary in Bavaria.

In doing so, she got to the heart of her artistic work with a brilliant image.

As an advertising agency, we designed this idea with a Japanese calligraphy aesthetic to honor the artist’s country of birth.

We designed the poster in a very modern style, matching Masako Ohta’s avant-garde repertoire.

Simultaneously with the development of the poster design, we formed a logo that we placed on the left side of the area.

We created the visual balance by arranging a block on the right, which presented all appointment information in a compact manner.

We played around this stable middle body, consisting of the two typographic blocks, with the roots and wings below and above it. Our idea was to create a visual body of sound with these lively brushstrokes.
